Anthropology Graduate Student Organization
About
We, as an organization, offer anthropology graduate students the opportunity to get to know their fellow graduate students as well as the department and its resources. We are chartered under the Graduate Student Council (GSC) and the Associated Students of NMSU (ASNMSU), meaning that our members can apply for funding for conferences and research. Graduate Student Organizations are also able to sponsor lectures or colloquia, volunteer in the community as an organization, provide a means of networking for graduate students, and improve facilities and/or equipment available for graduate students.
Purpose:
1. To further the local community's awareness of anthropology and sociology.
2. To foster the academic and professional development of graduate students in anthropology and sociology.
3. To facilitate a meaningful academic exchange between faculty and students.
4. To voice the concerns and opinions of graduate students in administrative and departmental decision making and policy making matters
